Rook Walk Centenary to be celebrated
22 November 2018

Tuesday 27 November 2018 will mark 100 years to the day since more than 2000 people assembled at the lakes area to take part in one of the greatest days of community effort in the city’s history to build Rook Walk. City of Mount Gambier and the Mount Gambier History Group will hold a centenary celebration at the site adjacent to the Blue Lake and the public is invited to attend. Read full article

Community and Recreation Hub Info Sessions

Come along to a pop up information session during November and have a chat with the project team. Look out for your survey in the mail in coming weeks for the chance to have your say on whether the proposed facility should proceed. Surveys must be in the post by 21 December 2018. 2018 Mount Gambier Christmas Parade Winners
19 November 2018

​More than 16,000 people lined Commercial Street on Saturday 17 November 2018 for the NF McDonnell and Sons Mount Gambier Christmas Parade. Recycled Runway’s ‘Wear It, Don’t Waste It’ was named the most outstanding entry. The entry showcases the work of participants who create a new outfit from a pre-selected bag of op-shop clothes which are then modelled on a runway. Read full article

Local 'brass band man' to be honoured

​Mount Gambier’s own ‘brass band man’ Allen Woodham OAM will be honoured by the Christmas Parade Advisory Group for 20 years involvement in coordinating the Lions Club of Mount Gambier Brass Band Festival, including the organisation of bands marching in the annual Mount Gambier Christmas Parade. Community and Recreation Hub Engagement

In the lead up to the release of a community postal survey later this month, the City of Mount Gambier is encouraging the community to be informed about the proposed Mount Gambier Community and Recreation Hub.
