Hay Drive project complete

​The removal of Hay Drive bridge and development of a two way road has been completed and is now open to traffic. City of Mount Gambier Design Engineer Andrew Thompson said the project ran smoothly and was delivered on time and on budget at $190,000. Read full article

Council encourages transparency for stakeholders

Put on your gloves for Clean Up Australia Day

​Get your friends and family together to help make Mount Gambier clean and green at this year’s Clean Up Australia Day event to be held this weekend, Sunday 3 March 2019. Every year since 1990, local communities have rolled up their sleeves, put on some gloves and joined forces to and clean up their local schools, parks, sporting grounds, road sides and city centre areas by collecting and removing rubbish. 'No stopping zones' for Jubilee Highway East
20 February 2019

​City of Mount Gambier will install no stopping zones on the north side of Jubilee Highway East on either side of the Attamurra Road intersection to improve traffic safety. The decision was made at the Council meeting last night, following a report to Council and complaints from motorists regarding restricted sight distance for vehicles leaving Attamurra Road due to trucks and caravans parking along the roadway to go to the McDonald’s restaurant. ​City of Mount Gambier CEO Mark McShane will officially retire on Friday 15 February 2019 after more than seven years in the top job at Council and an extensive career in local government, training, recruitment and human resources. Read full article

City welcomes new Australian citizens
13 February 2019

Five members of the Mount Gambier community were granted Australian citizenship following a citizenship ceremony officiated by the City of Mount Gambier on Thursday 7 February 2019 at the Council chambers. Mayor Lynette Martin OAM presided over the ceremony where the candidates, surrounded by family and friends, pledged their loyalty and commitment to Australia through the citizenship pledge. Mayor's Christmas appeal donations skyrocket
