Pet owners urged to be responsible

Author Visit - Doctor Becomes The Patient

The Mount Gambier Library presents breast cancer survivor Dr Jodie Fleming on Tuesday 9 April at 7:00pm at City Hall to launch her memoir ‘A Hole in My Genes’. As a psychologist for oncology patients, Dr Fleming has helped dozens of patients with their cancer fight until one day she felt a lump in her own breast. Read full article

Amaya's Alphabet set to launch

Amaya Gamage is a 13 year old local artist with a love for drawing which will see her launch her very own children’s picture book. Amaya’s book will be officially launched at the Mount Gambier Library this Sunday 7 April 2019 at 11:30am. Read full article

Immersive Storytelling Project Awarded Funding
02 April 2019

​The Mount Gambier Library will bring Virtual Reality technology to local residents in aged care facilities as part of an immersive storytelling project. It follows SA Minister for Health and Wellbeing Stephen Wade’s announcement that a $16,900 Age Friendly SA grant will support the roll out of the initiative, as one of eight successful projects across the state. Online Viewing of Council Meetings

​City of Mount Gambier is seeking feedback through a short online survey to gauge community interest in viewing monthly Council meetings online and expectations associated with the proposed service. The survey is live on Council’s community engagement consultation website Have Your Say Mount Gambier and follows an initial report on cost and policy implications around live streaming and recording meetings which was presented to Council at its meeting on 19 March 2019. Exceptional Junior awarded
28 March 2019

City of Mount Gambier Junior Sports Assistance Fund recently announced Tantanoola based hockey player Georgia Clarke as the 2018 Commercial Club Inc Exceptional Junior awardee. The talented hockey star will receive $1,000 through the fund, as part of a $2,500 donation from the Mount Gambier Commercial Club to support junior sportspeople in the region. Read full article

City of Mount Gambier to switch off for Earth Hour
28 March 2019

​The City of Mount Gambier will participate in Earth Hour on Saturday 30 March 2019 with the international theme of ‘Connect 2 Earth’. Council will switch off the lights at Centenary Tower, City Hall, Lady Nelson Brig at the Mount Gambier Visitor Centre, Library and the Main Corner between 8:30pm and 9:30pm. Read full article

New CEO Appointed - Andrew Meddle

​Rural City of Murray Bridge General Manager Sustainable Communities Andrew Meddle has been appointed as the new City of Mount Gambier CEO. Andrew has an Honours degree in Countryside Planning and a joint Masters degree in Urban Planning and Transport Planning, in addition to a Diploma in Countryside Management and professional qualifications in environmental impact assessment and project management. Federal Funding Announced for Hub
22 March 2019

City of Mount Gambier welcomes Federal Member for Barker Tony Pasin’s announcement that $15 million in Federal grant funding for the Mount Gambier Community and Recreation Hub project under the Regional Growth Fund (RGF) has been approved. Council is in the process of finalising the funding agreement with the Department of Infrastructure, Regional Development and Cities. Read full article
