International GovHack success

The inaugural partnership between the Mount Gambier Library and eNVIsion Limestone Coast for the GovHack Open Data Competition has come to a successful finish with 17 year old Jordan Hutchins taking out four awards.

Gallery to launch exhibitions for summer program

The Riddoch Art Gallery is currently installing two exhibitions to coincide with a busy summer program. Opening on Friday 22 November 2019 at 6:00pm the exhibitions ‘As far as the eye can see’ and ‘Unbound’ by Rory Carter will be on display until January 2020.

Christmas Parade set for 60 year celebration
13 November 2019
Christmas decorations are up in the streets and the finishing touches are being added to the floats as the City prepares for the 2019 NF McDonnell and Sons Mount Gambier Christmas Parade. Commencing at 11:00am this Saturday 16 November 2019 the event will herald the arrival of the festive season for the 60th time since the very first parade was held in Mount Gambier in 1959.

Creative Arts Fund applications now open

The City of Mount Gambier Creative Arts Fund is now open for applications with a total of $25,000 available to local artists and not-for-profit organisations and community groups to support the delivery of inspiring, creative and contemporary projects that seek to contribute to a vibrant and culturally diverse community.

Sport and Recreation Capital Works funding open

The City of Mount Gambier Sport and Recreation Major Capital Works Program is now open for applications. The aim of the funding program is to foster and assist in the development and capital renewal of sport and recreation infrastructure within the City and is open to sport and recreation groups and organisations within Mount Gambier.

Catchment area to be drained to eradicate pest fish
06 November 2019
The large water catchment area at the Mount Gambier Railway Lands will be drained on Thursday 7 November 2019 as City of Mount Gambier work with staff from Natural Resources South East and the University of Tasmania to attempt to eradicate an invasive fish species called Gambusia.

The Riddoch & Main Corner Complex and Mount Gambier Library are hosting activities as part of National Recycling Week. The Planet Ark initiative is the annual opportunity for councils, workplaces, schools and individuals to brush up on their recycling knowledge.

Innovation Lab back at the Mount Gambier Library

The third Mount Gambier Library Innovation Lab will be held this Saturday 2 November 2019 from 10:00am to 1:00pm. The free family friendly event will be delivered in collaboration with Anvil Electronics, TDRS, eNVIsion Limestone Coast and The Riddoch & Main Corner Complex and provides an opportunity for the community to explore, see, share, touch and play with different technologies.
