Council to trial bulky waste collection service

Citizens conferred electronically amidst COVID-19

Library to re-open - COVID-19 update

​The Mount Gambier Library is planning a staged approach to its re-opening following the release of the Federal and State Government roadmaps to COVID-19 recovery on Friday. The Library will re-open on Monday 18 May 2020 at 10:00am, with reduced opening hours and limited services in order to comply with strict State Government guidelines. Read full article

Rate relief on offer for businesses
11 May 2020

​City of Mount Gambier will provide rate relief to businesses whose activity has been significantly impacted by COVID-19. At a special meeting of Council, held Thursday 7 May 2020, Council endorsed the move to refund or waive the equivalent of one quarter of the rates and Regional Landscape Levy, on application, for commercial properties based in Mount Gambier. Community Development Fund applications open

​Applications are now open for a $200,000 COVID-19 Community Development Fund. The fund, established by City of Mount Gambier following endorsement at a special Council meeting this week, is intended to enable community and sporting groups to undertake works at their facilities during closures forced by COVID-19. COVID-19 update - City playgrounds to re-open

​Playgrounds across the city will re-open this week following advice from the State Government over the weekend. City of Mount Gambier made the decision to close playgrounds, skate parks and the pump track in March to limit the spread of COVID-19 and discourage gatherings within the community. Council honours sponsorship for cancelled events

​With COVID-19 causing the cancellation and postponement of a number of events, Council this week resolved to provide support to community event organisers. At the April meeting, Council endorsed the payment of part or all sponsorship funding for events where a commitment was made in advance of the public health emergency. Read full article

Council seeks input to develop business support plan

​City of Mount Gambier is committed to continue working with the community to prepare for a strong recovery following COVID-19.
