COVID-19 Library restrictions further eased

​With the State Government outlining further easing of COVID-19 restrictions, Mount Gambier Library continues to expand its service delivery. With COVID-19 restrictions starting to ease, City of Mount Gambier is calling on the community to share their experiences during the pandemic and be part of the local story ‘My COVID-19’. Council bins green waste fee

​City of Mount Gambier residents will no longer have to pay an additional fee to subscribe to the kerbside FOGO (food organics/green organics) bin service from 1 July 2020 with Elected Members this week endorsing a plan to absorb the cost of the service into general rates for residential properties. Council to trial bulky waste collection service

​City of Mount Gambier will trial a kerbside bulky waste collection over a six month period from 1 July 2020. Elected Members endorsed the ‘by-appointment’ waste option at last night’s May meeting as a further step towards supporting residents during COVID-19. Read full article

Citizens conferred electronically amidst COVID-19

​City of Mount Gambier hosted its first online Australian Citizenship Ceremony on Thursday 14 May 2020 with 23 residents conferred. Mayor Lynette Martin OAM presided over the ceremony, held via Zoom due to COVID-19. Read full article

Library to re-open - COVID-19 update
12 May 2020

​The Mount Gambier Library is planning a staged approach to its re-opening following the release of the Federal and State Government roadmaps to COVID-19 recovery on Friday. The Library will re-open on Monday 18 May 2020 at 10:00am, with reduced opening hours and limited services in order to comply with strict State Government guidelines. Read full article

Rate relief on offer for businesses
11 May 2020

​City of Mount Gambier will provide rate relief to businesses whose activity has been significantly impacted by COVID-19. At a special meeting of Council, held Thursday 7 May 2020, Council endorsed the move to refund or waive the equivalent of one quarter of the rates and Regional Landscape Levy, on application, for commercial properties based in Mount Gambier.
