NAIDOC WEEK 2021 - ‘Heal Country!’

City of Mount Gambier will acknowledge and celebrate our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community during NAIDOC Week, 4 - 11 July 2021. The NAIDOC Week 2021 theme is ‘Heal Country!’ which calls for stronger measures to recognise, protect and maintain all aspects of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and heritage.

Special transport delivery for Wulanda development
22 June 2021
The longest single glulam timber beams ever shipped to Australia - spanning up to 42 metres, were loaded on to two trucks to make the journey from the wharf in Port Melbourne to the Wulanda Recreation and Convention Centre construction site on Margaret Street in Mount Gambier on Tuesday 22 June 2021. The two trucks will return again on Thursday 24 June 2021 to deliver the final loads of timber.

Wulanda Recreation & Convention Centre CRG meet

The Wulanda Recreation and Convention Centre Stage 3 Community Reference Group (CRG) met for the first time last week. The Stage 3 CRG will work with Council to provide input into the operational model and the activation of the major community centre currently under construction at Olympic Park on Margaret Street, Mount Gambier.

Draft 2021/2022 Budget and Waste Service Charge

City of Mount Gambier residents are encouraged to provide feedback on the 2021/2022 Draft Annual Business Plan and Budget (ABP&B) and proposed Waste Service Charge (WSC) formally endorsed at the Council meeting on 18 May 2021. The draft budget supports the strategies, initiatives, services and projects aligned with Council’s Strategic Plan 2020-2024, Long Term Financial Plan and Asset Management Plans.

City of Mount Gambier will host a program of events from Thursday 27 May to Wednesday 2 June 2021 to acknowledge National Reconciliation Week. Events will be held at the Mount Gambier Library and Riddoch Arts and Cultural Centre under the 2021 theme of ‘More than a word. Reconciliation takes action’.
