City of Mount Gambier will host a family friendly New Year's Eve celebration at the Cave Garden/Thugi between 4:00pm and 9:00pm on Sunday 31 December 2023.
The event will include food stalls, jumping castles, face painting, balloon sculptures and giant games.
“We encourage young families to come down to the Cave Garden/Thugi with a picnic to enjoy some fun and games to celebrate the new year,” City of Mount Gambier Community Events Officer Liana Golubic said.
Live entertainment will be provided from 4:00pm including children’s entertainer Candi Smith and music from the Christy Wallace Trio and Magnet.
Council’s events team have been working hard behind the scenes to put together an event following the news that the New Year's Eve Festival organised by community committee Mount Gambier Community Events Management Inc was cancelled last month.
“The event complements Summer on Watson, a trial CBD activation program at the Cave Garden/Thugi which sees Watson Terrace closed on most weekends until the end of January 2024.”
This is an alcohol free (dry zone), smoke free event.
