Eight Mount Gambier community members took the final step in their journey to become an Australian citizen, making the Australian Citizenship Pledge at a special City of Mount Gambier Citizenship Ceremony held at the Civic Centre Council Chamber on Thursday 1 February 2018.
City of Mount Gambier Mayor Andrew Lee was proud to officially welcome the recipients and present them with their Australian Citizenship certificate. The recipients, including three young children, originally came from the United Kingdom, India and Thailand and now call Mount Gambier home.
Soroptimist Mount Gambier presented candidates with a gift to welcome them as new Australian Citizens.
The City of Mount Gambier hosts Citizenship Ceremonies every three months.
